NEW ENGLAND LANGUAGE ACADEMY
Guadeloupe Exchange Program
Share your Home, Build Connections, Make Friends Abroad
In March 2019, New England Language Academy is hosting French students from Guadeloupe. This exchange was originally established in 2015 by Brigitte Savard, French teacher, and has already run three successful trips between Vermont French language students and students from the island of Marie-Galante, in Guadeloupe, an overseas French department.
This year, there are 16 students travelling to Vermont, from 16 to 17 years old. During the weekdays, the students will have programming as a group, and host families are only required to help them get to downtown Montpelier.
Students work all year to raise funds to achieve this life-changing trip, and when Guadeloupean students come to Vermont, they experience life in the Northeast living with local families.
